Pharmacy Technician

HIRING: Pharmacy Technician or Experienced Trainee – South Austin Location

Peoples Rx is a locally-owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community and been a beloved Austin icon for over 40 years. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with our progressive, world-class pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer.

The ideal candidate has the ability to process a variety of prescriptions in a fast-paced, retail environment and maintains a positive attitude with fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely and accurately to fill patient prescriptions all while providing a unique customer experience.

Requirements:

  • Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license
  • Must reside in the greater Austin area (in-person role: 3801 S. Lamar Blvd. 78704)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency
  • Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology
  • 6 months to 1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including alternating nights and weekends
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify prescription orders (written/electronic)
  • Accurately input prescription data into pharmacy software
  • Answer phones and assist patients with questions
  • Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues
  • Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications
  • Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed

Job Type: Full-time
Starting Pay: $16.50 – $21.00/hour (Based on certification level and experience)
