Experienced Pharmacist - Weekends, Part Time

Are you a passionate pharmacist seeking an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients? We're looking for a part-time pharmacist with strong weekend availability who thrives in a collaborative and customer-centric environment. Peoples Rx is a locally owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community for over 40 years.

As a pharmacist with Peoples Rx, you will join our dynamic team of technicians and pharmacists—many of whom have celebrated well over a decade with us. The ideal candidate works promptly and with precision in a fast-paced retail environment while serving our customers with compassion and care.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring patient safety and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical and nutraceutical advice to patients, addressing questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapies and patient outcomes.
  • Conduct medication reviews and counseling sessions to promote proper usage and adherence.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to deliver exceptional care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative pharmacy services.

Qualifications

  • Current pharmacist license in the state of Texas, in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs & Sheets).
  • Prior experience in an independent or community pharmacy preferred.
  • Immunization certification preferred.
  • Preceptor experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with nutritional supplements a plus.
  • Prior compounding experience preferred.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to cover Saturdays/Sundays (evening and weekday shifts may also be assigned).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours.
